What are the responsibilities and job description for the TECHNICIAN I position at TE Connectivity?
TE Connectivity Industrial and Commercial Transportation Division is looking for a Laboratory / Test Technician to join our Greensboro Test Lab. This person will assist with sample preparation, fundamental testing of connectors, test request administration, report writing, and learning of a new Laboratory Information Management System (DigiLab).
Main Responsibilities:
- Set up mechanical, electrical, and environmental test samples and equipment in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and test procedures.
- Stripping and soldering wires; crimping wires; attaching thermocouples and sense leads to wire.
- Operating test equipment such as: Power Supplies, Multimeters, etc.
- Assisting Test Engineers with sample preparation and testing.
- Writing and reviewing test reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Learning a new Laboratory Information Management System (DigiLab).
What your background should look like:
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Requires High School Diploma with 1 year Technical Associates and or Certificate.
- Highly organized and detailed approach to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. comfortably.
- Familiarity with wire harnessing and connectors, a plus.
- The ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, specifications, charts, etc. another plus.
- Ability to deal with multiple priorities, multi-tasking and establish priorities based on urgencies.
- Ability to work well within a cross-functional team environment.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Self-starter and enthusiastic.
