What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Worker position at Teach Iowa?

Hours: 6:45 - 2:15 pm with a 30 minute unpaid break

Our General food service worker performs a wide range of duties that are essential to the successful operation of our program. At ADM, we believe that ensuring that our students' nutritional needs are met is a necessary first step in creating an environment where students are able to focus and thrive both within and outside of the classroom. Essential Job Duties

  • Ability to assist fellow workers in their duties.

  • Ability to assist in preparing and cooking food in large quantities.

  • Ability to work efficiently.

  • Ability to maintain routine records related to food, service, and inventory.

  • Computer/Cashier knowledge - all duties assigned

  • Serve and clean up in the kitchen and cafeteria.

  • Must keep kitchen at Health Department regulation standards.

  • Food products properly checked in and placed in storage areas in a timely manner.

  • Good customer service skills appropriate for contact with staff, teachers, parents and children.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Other duties assigned by the Food Service Director.

Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 45% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under temperature extremes and in a generally hazard free environment.

Salary : $28,500 - $36,100
