What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Worker position at Teach Iowa?
Hours: 6:45 - 2:15 pm with a 30 minute unpaid break
Our General food service worker performs a wide range of duties that are essential to the successful operation of our program. At ADM, we believe that ensuring that our students' nutritional needs are met is a necessary first step in creating an environment where students are able to focus and thrive both within and outside of the classroom. Essential Job Duties
Ability to assist fellow workers in their duties.
Ability to assist in preparing and cooking food in large quantities.
Ability to work efficiently.
Ability to maintain routine records related to food, service, and inventory.
Computer/Cashier knowledge - all duties assigned
Serve and clean up in the kitchen and cafeteria.
Must keep kitchen at Health Department regulation standards.
Food products properly checked in and placed in storage areas in a timely manner.
Good customer service skills appropriate for contact with staff, teachers, parents and children.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
Other duties assigned by the Food Service Director.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 45% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under temperature extremes and in a generally hazard free environment.
Salary : $28,500 - $36,100
