TITLE: JH Activities Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid teaching certificate.
2. Valid coaching endorsement.
3. Head coach experience and coaching experience in more than one sport.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Grade Level Principal
JOB GOAL: To supervise the athletic department in such a way as to assure cooperation and harmony with all other departments of the school and to provide direction and supervision of all extracurricular athletic activities that will foster physical skills, a sense of worth and competence, a knowledge and understanding of the pleasures of sport, and the principles of fair play.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Purchase athletic equipment, supplies, and extracurricular awards upon the recommendation of the coaches and approval of the superintendent.
- Schedule all athletic contests - middle school, junior varsity, and varsity.
- Schedule all officials and to see that they are paid.
- Supervise practice schedules in cooperation with the principal.
- Supervise the preparation of fields and courts for games and practices.
- Arrange for people (timers, scorers, ticket takers, etc.) to work at games and contests.
- Hold conferences with athletic staff.
- Help supervise at games and events.
- Attend conference meetings.
- Prepare state athletic reports.
- Keep up-to-date inventories.
- Make certain all insurance waivers are turned in before athlete participates in practice or game.
- Arrange, with superintendent, transportation to all out of town games.
- Meet with all athletic goods sales persons calling on the school.
- Supervise the cleaning, storage, and care of all athletic equipment.
- Supervise all ticket sales and fund raiser events connected with the athletic program. Responsible for change for concession stand workers and ticket takers.
- Arrange all details of the visiting team’s needs.
- Send schedules to schools and news media.
- See that scores are reported to TV, radio, and newspapers.
- Responsible for programs at home events.
- Attend Booster Club meetings and work with their organization.
- Performs such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned.
- Coordinate all activities scheduling, working to minimize conflicts.
Salary : $35,800 - $45,300
