The Board of Education of the Rock Valley CSD is seeking a highly qualified, visionary, and fully certified educational leader to serve as Superintendent of Schools, beginning July 1, 2023.
Dr. Tim Grieves and Mr. Gary Richardson, GR Consulting Services, along with Dr. Dan Smith, have been engaged as the consultants in a search for outstanding candidates and will assist the Board of Education and the Board Secretary in identifying and screening the applicants. - Understand and be an advocate for the entire K-12 system;
- A forward-thinking, visionary leader with excellent communication skills and unquestionable integrity;
- Be accessible, open-minded, and consider all points of view before making decisions;
- Compassionate, approachable, and personable, but with the ability to hold people, staff, and students accountable for their decisions, actions, jobs and duties; and the
- Ability to deal directly and fairly with faculty, staff, students, parents and community members and serves a liaison between the board and community.

The Rock Valley Community School Districts provide a tremendous opportunity for its next Superintendent of Schools. The Rock Valley Community Schools serves 950 students with 150 staff members. The district has a growing enrollment trend over the past few years that supports a wide variety of academic and extra/co-curricular activities. A complete application for the position of Superintendent of Schools Position must include:
- a letter of application
- resume’
- completed and signed application form and other necessary signatures
- written response to the four narrative questions
- maximum of four recent letters of recommendation regarding your professional work (preferably at least two from your current employer)
- photocopy of college/university transcripts
- a copy of a current Iowa superintendent’s endorsement—including evaluator approval certification

Salary : $30,500 - $38,600
