Bergman Academy is currently accepting applicants for highly motivated, creative, intellectually engaged teachers for the 2023-2024 school year. Bergman Academy develops lifelong learners with a strong sense of independence and self. Our intentionally small class sizes facilitate partnerships grounded in a commitment to excellence, inquiry-based learning, and service. Bergman offers teacher-leadership opportunities and the chance to work with involved parents and a staff of dedicated professionals.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a minimum bachelor’s degree in education
• Have experience planning and facilitating differentiated instruction
• Collaborate flexibly with teaching colleagues
• Foster a classroom environment where students feel comfortable to take risks, make mistakes, and be curious
• Design creative ways to make learning visible
• Prioritize partnerships with students, colleagues, and families
• Communicate effectively and thoughtfully in both written and verbal form
• Find joy engaging with learners of all ages and their families
• Desire an environment that challenges, supports, and expects each member of the community to reach their potential - this includes students and teachers

Bergman Academy is an independently accredited, state-recognized, secular school offering Preschool through 8th grade. We are located in the heart of Greenwood Park in Des Moines.
