We have 9 fitness facilities located throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area that are associated with Texas Health Resources. The General Manager at the Dallas location has responsibility for all operations, employees, and guests, reporting to the Director of Operations.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Understand and embody the FX mission, core values, and overall culture, leading by example and holding all teammates accountable to goals and metrics;
- Oversee all staff members and departments, managing and motivating people in positive manner and communicating clearly and regularly with staff, company leadership, and others;
- Responsible for recruiting, training, performance management, and discipline of team members in collaboration with the Director of Operations and HR;
- Focus on growing new memberships and ensuring that every member and guest has an excellent experience according to our high internal standards;
- Manage all aspects of the Dallas facilities, including facility safety, operations, and maintenance activities and various administrative tasks;
- Operate the facility within budget parameters, regularly report on scorecard metrics (fiscal and other), complete/approve payroll timely, etc.; and
- Work collaboratively with the President, leadership team, and others to sustain smooth and profitable operation of the Dallas location.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications for the position include the following:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a management role in a service or retail environment with oversight of at least three (3) direct reports;
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject preferred or additional equivalent work experience combined with a strong interest in the business aspects of the fitness, beauty, and wellness industry;
- Proven success as a servant leader with a focus on prioritization, excellence, team building, and collaboration in a fast-moving, non-hierarchical environment while staying calm;
- Must be proactive, solutions-driven, organized, and innovative with great work ethic, solid judgment, and proven self-motivation;
- Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills, plus excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude – not afraid to have difficult conversations when needed;
- High level of proficiency and accuracy with MS Office, Google Worksheets, retail POS, CRM, and other software; and
- Current CPR/AED certification.
Enthusiasm, high energy, team orientation, and a ‘get it done’ approach are all necessary for success in our environment. Entrepreneurial attitude a plus.
