Operating Room RN Team Leader for the service lines provides care and service to surgical patients and others utilizing the nursing process. As a member of the healthcare team, he/she will demonstrate nursing expertise as a clinician, coordinator, educator and innovator of care and services. This position coordinates the daily operations of their respective service line and provides 24 hour, 7 day per week coverage for the service. The position coordinates the nursing activities of the service and serves as a liaison between surgeons, anesthesia, specialty clinics and Perioperative Staff. He/she is responsible for and supervises the total nursing operations, equipment and supplies of the area under the guidance and direction of the Director of Operating Room and the Chiefs of Services. He/she maintains knowledge and understanding of all policies, procedures, and standards for the department and organization. He/she will serve as a role model, resource person and advocate for both staff and patients. He/she will provide over site of department in the absence of the Director of Operating Room.
