Job Title: Sr. SQL DBA
Location: This position offers remote opportunities in AK, AZ, CO, HI, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, TX, UT, WA, WY
Duration: 6 Contract to Hire
Description: Our client is adding a Senior Database Administrator to their team. This role will be responsible for designing and maintaining Microsoft SQL OLTP and OLAP databases in development, testing, and production environments.
Responsibilities:
· Manage Microsoft SQL database platforms.
- Devise solutions to increase performance including hardware, server configuration changes, or index/query changes when performance issues
- Write database code (stored procedures, scripts, triggers) and Integration services packages for standalone use or for use by application
- Install and configure new SQL
- Design and recommend the implementation of required database
- Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation efforts meet integration and performance
- Administer and support third-party vendor
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema
- Ensure all database servers are backed up to meet the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
- Test backups to ensure that Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) are
- Perform security related functions focused on NIST compliance including, automated scan reviews and remediation of
- Serve as point of contact with technical peers for the resolution of infrastructure-related
- Ensure compliance with company HIPAA, privacy, and government security
- Develop databases, tables, table spaces, indexes, triggers, procedures, SQL reports, and all other
- Create and support SQL integration service
- Administer both internal and external facing SQL reporting services implementation in development, testing and
- Define content and structure of database schema and advise users on efficient techniques for extracting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date database system documentation.
- Apply patches and application
- Function as a Subject Matter Expert on database development and
- Mentor junior DBAs
- Perform other duties as
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field with programming and database systems coursework or equivalent combination of education and
- 4 years as a SQL Database Administrator with progressively higher-level experience leading to a Senior Database Administrator role or
- Experience with all facets of the SQL Server Services group: Database Services, Reporting services, Integration Version 2008 R2, SQL 2012, and SQL 2014
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Experience with database partitioning and
- Experience working with Windows server, including Active
- Experience following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
