Here's a summary of responsibilities:
Manage the efficient and effective operation of the CSOPTC Venues Department. Oversee the Venues team responsible for the day-to-day operation of the CSOPTC Venues: Sports Center I, Sports Center II, Velodrome, and CSOPTC meeting rooms. Manage departmental budgets. Organize services with internal and external customers and departments. Coordinate all safety training, policy, and implementation for Venues team members.
Here's how you'll have an impact:
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to the safety, security, and customer service of the CSOPTC Venues and Velodrome team members and athletes/guests.
- Create and implement training manuals for team members to include all department policies regarding staff conduct, customer service, safety, emergency planning, and equipment set-up. Coordinate and instruct monthly in-service training for team.
- Supervise and provide overall direction and leadership to the venues team members, to include staff selection, staff schedule alignment with budget and guest volume, staff development, coaching, mentoring, staff development, ongoing evaluation, performance reviews, and succession plan design.
- Maintain world-class venues by staying abreast of the latest international equipment needs and rules for potential sport groups. Work with NGBs, USOPC Sport Performance, and Paralympic Sports to coordinate additions, equipment upgrades, repairs, and/or maintenance needed within the sport venues and meeting rooms.
- Serve as the OPTC’s main point of contact regarding the community program at the Velodrome. Work in conjunction with the City of Colorado Springs and USA Cycling to ensure long-term plan for community program is developed and executed.
- Coordinate and oversee the correct set-up of all meeting rooms and venue specific equipment on the CSOPTC Complex. Track CSOPTC venue-specific equipment, including ordering, inventory, storage, and repair/replacement of such equipment.
- Manage operational budget for Venues and Velodrome business units. Identify and address current and future needs for both areas.
- Plan for and maintain quadrennial facility improvement plan to maintain world class status of the CSOPTC Venues. Oversee all capital and operational purchases. Make recommendations to the CSOPTC Senior Director for implementation as budget allows. Oversee OPTC Deferred Maintenance (DM) Budget for Venues, including the Velodrome. Work directly with CSOPTC Senior Director and Facilities Department to develop inventory, schedule project prioritization for venues, and manage DM budget on quarterly basis.
- Become proficient in technical aspects of the venues department scoring equipment, floor scrubbers, and other technical equipment provided by the venues team. Teach and guide venues staff to be proficient in these areas. Troubleshoot and communicate with contractors and vendors when Venues equipment is faulty or not working properly.
- Utilize various USOPC software to process invoices, route contracts, generate expense reports, perform HR-related duties, and pull reports related to Venues.
Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience

Must currently have or can obtain within one year from date of hire:

Forklift/pallet jack operator’s license and/or certification

Valid driver’s license
- CPR and First Aid Certification and Blood Borne Pathogens Certification

- 3-5 years of experience within a sports organization
- 3-5 years of supervising staff
- Ability to travel as required

Pay and Bonus Information
- Hiring Pay Range: $55,567 - $65,000 per year
- This is a full-time, exempt position intended to work 40 hours per week.
- Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program at a 15% target. This program is subject to change or elimination by the USOPC at any time at its sole discretion
