Overview:
The Floorplan Administrator reports directly to the Inventory Accounting Manager and is responsible for processing requests from the field to buy trucks and trailers ensuring timely payment is made and smooth communication with the branch as well as month-end close activities. This position is clerical in nature with opportunity to learn and apply accounting and Excel skills in an office environment assisting with research and analysis, reporting and account reconciliations.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as process owner for TEC’s floor plan administration:
    • Review floor plan addition, transfer and payoff requests received from TEC’s branches for completeness, accuracy and proper authorization
    • Process transactions on bank websites
    • Communicate directly with bank representatives to process transactions when required
    • Record completed transactions to the GL
    • Notify stakeholders about completed transactions as directed by supervisor
    • Maintain floor plan records
    • Resolve discrepancies in floor plan records
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our partner banks and the broader TEC team. Serve as a primary point of contact for questions from banks and TEC employees pertaining to our floor plan
  • Assist in the processing of truck/trailer sales transactions as needed, with an emphasis on detail and accuracy
  • Perform month-end close, year-end close, and audit tasks as assigned
  • Prepare assigned monthly and quarterly financial reports ensuring accuracy and developing efficiency improvements
  • Support the inventory accounting team in various tasks as assigned
  • Support cycle of continuous improvement of processes and controls by identifying and communicating opportunities for process improvement
  • Act as the subject matter expert in the assigned area of responsibility
  • Manage workload and proactively communicate with management when there are unexpected challenges
  • Assist in special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed
Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree with an emphasis in accounting, bookkeeping, business required, Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Prior accounting or clerical work experience
  • Strong attention to detail while at the same time being able to understand big picture/overall strategy & business impacts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to all levels of staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to consistently provide exceptional customer service to all customers, internal and external.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills including the ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in priorities in ambiguous environment
  • CDK experience preferred
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat..
  • CDK experience.
