School Summary: TEC Connections Academy Commonwealth Virtual School (TECCA) is a tuition-free virtual public school district that employs over 190 faculty and staff, serving our diverse population of approximately 3,-000 students in Grades K12 from cities and towns across Massachusetts. Position and Responsibilities: ? Provides outreach to individual students and families in support of improved engagement in a virtual learning environment ? Conduct in-home visits to support students effective learning environment and structures ?
Provide support to parents/caretakers in fulfilling responsibilities outlined in the Caretaker/Learning Coach Agreement Form, and for whose children are having major problems in school ? Consult with Administration in enrollment cases ? Communicate/liaison to students special programs as transition in/out of TECCA warrants ? Maintains accurate records regarding student interactions ?
Advocate for students, parents, and the school system ? Develop and file ADF or CRAs with the court system as necessary? Work with students who have McKinney Vento Status to ensure they have the resources/support needed to be successful ? Communicate to Stakeholders the nature of TECCA programs and supports ?
Work toward developing positive relations between TECCA and the state-wide network of social/emotional support agencies ? Continually demonstrate an understanding of ethics as it relates to confidentiality and best practices when working with students and their families ? Consult and contribute to the TECCA Team in support of students growth and achievement and address mutual concerns ? Work with staff to develop effective educational plans for at-risk students ?
Facilitate cooperation between the systems providing service for students with multiple needs (i.e. outside therapists, special education, and guidance staff.) ? Develop and implement plans to enhance students school success ? Assess and report child abuse and neglect situations ?
Serves as a member of the School Counseling Department ? Will serve as a member of the Crisis Response & Intervention Team ? May participate in Special Education and Section 504 Meetings ? Serves as liaison between outside service agencies and school-based personnel ?
Contribute to the development of special programs in conjunction with other staff to improve the social and emotional well-being of students ? Participate in programs and professional organizations to maintain current knowledge in the field of social work ? Demonstrate a willingness to grow professionally and contribute to the educational processes at TECCA ? Other duties outlined in the Employee Policy Manual and as assigned
