    Overall Duties & Responsibilities:
    The Director of Finance is a senior management position responsible for providing leadership, planning, management, and enhancement of Tech Impact’s internal organization systems and infrastructure, allowing us to fulfill our mission and eventually scale our impact. With the supervision of the accounting department, outsourced accountant, and other potential contractors, this position oversees a $15M annual budget. It directs financial planning and accountability, creation and reporting on performance metrics, and day-to-day office operations. This position reports to the COO.

    The Director of Finance performs a range of duties, including the following::
    Financial Management and Accountability
    • Administer annual budgeting process and all financial planning with the goal of achieving a mix of earned and contributed revenue to ensure sustainability.
    • Conduct financial analysis, including evaluating the cost-of-service delivery, new business opportunities, partnerships, and technology investments, and identifying implications for strategy and operations.
    • Manage monthly invoicing process for 100 clients, working with account management and technology services delivery team to streamline and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payable.
    • Manage contract management and administration process, including annual service renewals. Work closely with Tech Impact account management and technology services delivery team in this process
    • Provide financial reports, ensuring financial data is presented and elevated to management.
    • Management of contracting with and oversight of accounting and audit consultants
    • Manage annual audit and tax filing.
    • Manage relationships with outside financial advisors responsible for managing Tech Impact’s reserve.
    Strategic Vision and Leadership
    • Lead Tech Impact’s effort to build out and strengthen our internal organizational capacity focusing on our structure and delivery system for maximum impact.
    • Ensure that Tech Impact is adhering to strategic plan targets, including delivering status reports to the Board.
    • Advise the COO and Board on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment, and policy matters.
    • Working with the COO, provide staff support and guidance to the Board and act as staff liaison to the Finance Committee
    • Participate in strategic and annual planning processes.
    Qualifications Of The Position :
    • Minimum of a BA, ideally with an MBA with coursework in accounting or financial management.
    • Strong operational experience: ideally has worked for 10 years in a socially responsible organization with progressive experience leading to at least five years’ experience in financial/ operational/administrative, ideally an organization that has seen significant growth or scale.
    • At least five years of experience and a track record in senior management. Knowledge of organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, basic accounting practices, board management, and strategic planning.
    • Demonstrated success in developing and monitoring systems to manage both operational and programmatic work that involves a high level of collaboration.
    • Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, formulate dashboards, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize workload.
    • Enthusiasm for, if not expertise in technology and technology adoption
    • Proficiency in using various computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software and experience manipulating NetSuite or other similar information management systems preferred. Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar financial tools
