POSITION SUMMARY
The Mold Maker will be responsible for utilizing all mold shop tools/equipment and interpreting 2D drawings for the fabrication, maintenance, repair, and engineering changes on company injection molds and mold parts. Will work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and improve mold performance. Will perform a variety of machine and bench operations related to production equipment, dies, molds fixtures, gauges, automated production machines, must work to close dimension and finish requirements.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- CNC and manual Mill’s Lathes and grinders
- Perform preventative maintenance, hands on production molds following all defined procedures and standard works
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair of injection molds and fixtures to maintain efficient production and specified quality standards
- Troubleshoot tooling, fixture, and machine problems and offer solutions
- Supports team objectives
- Evaluate injection molding problems to recommend and implement modifications as corrective actions
- Root cause identification and communication
- Keeps a clean and orderly workplace
- Helps in general shop work and maintenance as requested
- Ensure product is in conformance with established quality guidelines
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Experience as a supervisor
- Journeyman/Journeywoman mold making certification, or equivalent
- Experience in setting up manufacturing equipment
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Must be proficient in the use of precision measuring tools.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to read and understand part prints.
- Able to receive and act upon written and verbal instructions.
- Good dexterity with both hands and 20/20 corrected vision.
