What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer position at Techflex?

Job Summary:

The Graphic Designer is responsible for assisting the marketing department with the design and creation of graphics to meet the company’s specific marketing needs.
Essential Functions:

  • Assists with the design and development of websites, catalogs, print collateral, and social posts.
  • Works closely with Art Director to execute the concept through to completion.
  • Creates designs, concepts, and layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts.
  • Develops graphics and layouts for websites, catalogs, emails, technical sheets, advertisements, product illustrations, and company logos.
  • Uses computer software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, to generate new images, web assets, social media assets, designs, photos, and page layouts, etc.
  • Updates websites with new products and promotions.
  • Maintains archive of images, photos, or previous work products.
  • Supports marketing team with creativity, ideas, and concepts.
  • Manages multiple projects independently and collaboratively.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Requirements
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, & Capabilities:

  • Proficiency in Adobe CC – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Knowledge and understanding of design principles (typography, composition, layout, color, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience in Print, Web, E-Commerce, and Social Media design.
  • Experience in HTML Bootstrap experience a plus.
  • Ability to design for multiple and diverse brand guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond to changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to manage creative tasks in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Digital illustration skills a plus.
  • Graphic design portfolio required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Largely a sedentary role; however, routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and printers.
  • Occasionally lifting, moving, or carrying equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Visual acuity required.

Work Environment:

  • Professional office environment.
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles due to necessary communication with warehouse personnel.
  • Occasionally exposed to noise level that is moderate to high.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a graphic design role.
  • Design experience with online retailers a plus.
