Mechanical Designer / Drafter
Technic, a world leader in surface finishing technology, is seeking a Mechanical Designer / Drafter for our equipment division in Pawtucket, RI. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team committed to advancing the state of the art for automated surface finishing equipment.
We are looking for a motivated individual, highly proficient in SolidWorks and detailing large 3-D models, including weldments and plumbing assemblies.
As a Mechanical Designer / Drafter, you'll work with our talented team of mechanical and electrical engineers, and production supervisors and individual contributors, to build our systems: from concept, through design and fabrication, to testing the working systems on our factory floor, to supporting the field installation team. We hope to add you to our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce assembly and detail drawings using SolidWorks
- Create cams for Thermwood CNC machine from SolidWorks models using CamWorks software
Minimum Qualifications
- Highly proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD
- 5 years experience in capital equipment manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or Certified SolidWorks Expert (CSWE)
- Knowledge of Autocad 2D
- Knowledge of CamWorks
Bonus: A candidate who can perform upgrades of SolidWorks and PDM software and provide training in their use, or who can learn to do so.

Technic Equipment Division designs, fabricates and assembles advanced and highly custom electroplating and other wet processing systems at our location in Pawtucket, RI. Many of the systems are automated, and they can be over a hundred feet in length. Each machine has its own challenges and rewards, bringing great variety to the team's work.
