DB2 DBA
Start date is immediate.
Duration is one year and will be extended.
Pay rare: Market/Flexible
Client: State of Maryland
Mandatory Qualifications:
- 10 years general mainframe experience (programmer or technical support).
- 5 years' experience leading technical teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.
- Availability to provide weekend/off-hours support as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current DB2 (version 11 /-) DBA experience. Upgrade of DB2 to version 11 or 12 is a must.
- A strong knowledge of how read/write/tune SQL is required.
- Experience with CA DB2 tools (or equivalent).
- Experience with Omegamon for DB2 (or equivalent)
- Experience with creation and maintenance of stored procedures.
- Experience with mainframe application development accessing DB2 databases.
- Experience with hardware and software data encryption tools for DB2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the administration of DB2 databases.
- Perform monitoring and tuning activities on DB2 databases.
- Provide support to development resources.
- Creation and modification of standards and procedures.
- Perform core z/OS operating system and DB2 upgrades.
- Work with DB2 team members and will be expected to help develop and support staff.
- After hours on-call support and will be required to apply production packages during non-peak hours.
- Support internal and external audits and associated corrective action plans for any findings.
