PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform variety of research assistant researcher functions in support of psychology/ psychiatric research efforts, to include survey and interventions research. This work includes conducting literature reviews and providing written summaries based on the literature, constructing and managing databases, conducting surveys/interviews of research subjects, establishing collaborations with other investigators, setting up data collections, and providing technical assistance in database management and statistical analyses.

2. Responsible for data collection, analysis, and interpretation of mental health and social research study data.

3. Prepare reports and briefs of findings for national/ international meetings and senior military leaders.

4. Prepare manuscripts for peer reviewed medical/ psychology journals.

5. Must be able to travel to conduct field data collections or to attend scientific meetings.

6. Maintain a safe workplace ensuring that he/she is aware of and observes appropriate safety and occupational health rules and regulations. Employee is required to attend safety training relative to his/her position and report any infractions of safety procedures to the facility Safety Officer.

7. Edit research protocol and submission files in coordination with Principal Investigators

8. Develop and maintain research protocol files throughout the life of protocol

9. Coordinating all aspects of field study logistics and on the ground activities at data collection site.

10. Develop and test survey templates in the Remark system

11. Maintains a safe workplace ensuring that he/she is aware of and observes appropriate safety and occupational health rules and regulations. Employee is required to attend safety training relative to his/her position and report any infractions of safety procedures to the facility Safety Officer

12. Performs light duties and other related duties as required and assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors or equivalent years of experience or related field.
  • 1 year experience conducting research studies.
  • Have a minimal proficiency in common productivity software programs including Word, Excel, and others.
  • Must be able to work independently following a brief period of specific technical training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment; may require working evenings and weekends. May be required to travel up to ~25% of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Work may involve long periods of standing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
