Position Description:
The District Technology Server Applications Specialist is a member of the Technology Service Department and is primarily responsible for the installation, configuration, management ad backup of application platforms and server based systems that support instructional and administrative business systems. This individual also works with district-level and building level support staff to creatively find solutions to problems, and recommends and implements new technologies to enhance teacher learning and business functionality.
Special Requirements:
1. Associates Degree in related field and/or 3 years experience working in VMWare, Google, AWS, Microsoft server environments (Mixed environments preferred)
2. Experience working in a distributed WAN environment.
3. Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills.
4. Ability and experience supporting varied desktop platforms (Windows, Apple, Linux).
5. Must possess the physical ability to occasionally lift 50-70 pounds.
6. Able to install, configure, manage, and backup servers, workstations and monitor performance of hardware and applications in networked environments.
7. Participates in defining hardware/software specifications, configuration, and operation of district services and applications.
8. Work closely with District Technology Team, district staff and Technology Integration Mentors.
9. Supports all aspects of district software applications and platforms.
10. Ability to create meaningful web content and administer web servers ( Apache, IIS, etc).
11. Valid drivers license and access to personal vehicle for site visitations.
12. Create materials for teaching others how to use technology tools provided by the district.
13. Attend relevant meetings in the District, CESD, and at the local and state level as required by the District.
14. Ability to work as a member of a team and to maintain professional working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
15. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
This position is 8 hours per day; 240 days per year.
Potential start date: May 13, 2022
Salary range: $37,891 - $67,396
