Job Description
Reporting to the CSO, the Senior Human Resources Director leads all aspects of HR across North America. This influential and energetic director will mentor a team of 15 HR professionals and be responsible for providing strategic HR leadership across 20 locations in North America in all HR areas including Health and Safety, Recruitment, Leadership and organizational development, HR performance metrics/dashboards, benefits, compliance and HR technology. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in entrepreneurial and fast paced manufacturing environments across North America and has a passion for people.

What you’ll be doing!
Leadership
- Manage a high-performance culture by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports, providing regular feedback, and developing employees for wider roles and responsibilities to foster professional growth and development
- Develop a word-class talent acquisition team focused on passive recruiting strategies
- Understand the business and its challenges to help address the organization and people needs including organizational structures, organizational effectiveness, and team and individual performance
- Develop strong partnerships and act as a trusted advisor to leaders.
- Support and contribute to the development of leadership through focused development strategies, including talent and performance management.
Compliance and Systems
- Oversee the Health and Safety teams and all related projects. Ensure safety first, and that any incidents or investigations are managed properly.
- Ensure compliance regarding regulations and laws by executing necessary policies and procedures. (e.g., WSIB, OSHA, ERISA, FLSA, EEOC, normes du travail, CNESST,etc.).
- Oversee all HR scorecards and dashboards
- Ensure all files, policies and back up are kept well organized, easily accessible and up to date.
- Obtain an in-depth understanding and develop a strategy regarding the UKG HRIS system and how it is utilized for time and attendance, pay policies, HR policy sharing, communication and reporting.
Talent and Engagement
- Manage employee branding and value proposition initiatives
- Develop talent strategies that identify and develop top performers to grow talent from within and align talent capabilities with emerging business needs, readying the organization to meet future workforce needs
- Create and drive an HR strategy that is clear and easily adopted by every HR team across North America
- Implement and manage Talent & Development programs
- Spearhead employee engagement surveys through UKG
- Lead the development and delivery of company-wide programs, related to attracting, engaging, developing, and retaining top talent
- Champion employee development and drive leadership succession planning
- Measure and improve engagement across all sites.
- Empower the team to organize great employee appreciation events
Qualifications
Are you the ideal fit?
- On-site role at our Ayr, Ontario facility
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive HR experience, and at least 5 years of proven success at an executive level of a growing company.
- 5-7 years of progressive HR leadership experience in a manufacturing and entrepreneurial environment
- University degree.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Canadian and US employment law and related legislation.
- Relationship builder with the ability to foster trust and to influence decision making at all levels.
- Has demonstrated the ability and passion to coach, motivate, direct, mentor and develop a team of HR professionals identifying the best people for various positions.
- Demonstrated competence in the various HR functional areas including health and safety, talent sourcing, compensation and HRIS
- Possess executive presence
- Strong project delivery and team management capabilities
- Ability to travel 10% of the time during each year
- Takes risks, learns from their mistakes, builds trust, and is a role model to others. Has a “hands-on” style; is focused in achieving desired results.
