Looking for a majority remote person in the Washington, DC area for approx. 6 months:

• Perform Ad-hoc statistical analyses and reports: striving for high customer satisfaction, going out of our way to be helpful and pleasant, and making it as easy as possible on the customer.
• Work on a collaborative team: building strong working relationships and a positive work environment with a team of data scientists, research analysts, and program managers to develop solutions for the business needs of government agencies.
• Leverage big data and modern analytic techniques to develop creative solutions: planning ahead, managing time well, and thinking of better ways to do things.
• Travel to client locations as needed

Basic Requirements:

• Undergrad degree in a Math or Statistics related field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analysis, Accounting, Business, Economics, Operations Research, etc.) with 1 to 3 years of applicable experience • Detail oriented and experience with creating business professional reports and presentations • Analytical skills with the ability to conduct research utilizing Python or other language to manipulate data, and conduct statistical analysis • Proficiency with Python and SQL • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both a technical and non-technical audience

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide customized analytical support to answer the customer’s questions • Provide insights gathered from large, complex data sets.
• Proficient in SQL or Pyspark to access and manipulate large data sets efficiently • Apply common data manipulations to large data sets and learn new procedures when necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building dashboards in Tableau or another BI tool • Experience working with big data distributed programming languages and ecosystems such as Spark, Hadoop, MapReduce • Exposure to Cloud-based environments such as AWS • Experience working with graph databases such as Amazon Neptune or Neo4j • Knowledge of graph theory and graph analytics (i.e. graph neural networks, graph node embedding algorithms, maximum flow algorithms, random walk algorithms) • Experience working with outside clients on statistical engagements • Experience applying modern machine learning techniques
