To learn more about the Milwaukee story and our company click HERE. As a Product Safety Engineer for Milwaukee Tool, you will be located at our Corporate Headquarters in Brookfield, WI. You will work in a fast-paced environment to define safety requirements as a member of a cross-functional design team. You will utilize engineering skills to contribute to the development and qualification of new products for the Outdoor Power Equipment business unit Your primary duty is to assist in the coordination and execution of Hazard Analysis Reviews of Milwaukee products. You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities: Perform Hazard Analysis Reviews (risk assessments) of concepts, designs, and products. Advise Project Leaders, Product Managers, Design Engineers, and Reliability Engineers regarding safety requirements including tests and design constraints to minimize risk of injury and/or property damage. Review embedded system designs including schematics, PCB Layout, and microcontroller firmware. Communicate with product teams regarding product regulatory and safety matters. Conduct product design and construction reviews. Review test results and determine acceptability. Review operator's manuals, on-product markings, and other technical communications. Be conversant with industry safety standards, product rules, and product regulations. The TOOLS you'll bring with you: A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or technical equivalent. 3 years handling product safety activities related to outdoor power equipment power tools, and/or consumer products (preferred). Experience with microcontroller circuits, embedded firmware, statistical analysis methods, root cause analysis techniques. Excellent problem-solving ability and independent judgement. Strong verbal, written and organizational skills essential to professional communication. An emphasis on and adherence to schedule and attention to detail.
