The project
TECKpert seeks to hire an Internet/Web Security Specialist to support our client, a government agency based in Miami Dade County, FL.
Web Security Specialist reduces the risk of your company becoming a victim of accidental data loss, malicious cyber-attacks or data theft. They spot potential problems before bad actors do and take steps to close gaps in your information systems security to protect data.
If a breach or attack does occur, the Web Security Specialist leads the response effort to safeguard the remaining data, determines how the event occurred and recovers data as much as possible to minimize financial loss and work interruptions. Through the training programs they develop and implement, they raise cybersecurity awareness and help every employee learn how to protect data information.
Responsible for
- Consults in risk assessments of infrastructure and applications based on threats and vulnerabilities
- Assists in technical and forensic investigations in response to threats and incidents, and participates in the development and implementation of solutions to mitigate and/or eliminate risk
- Identifies and report recognized or potential Information Security threats and other Information Security issues
- Demonstrates understanding of security and controls policies, processes, and procedures through application in situations where security consultations are requested
- Promotes security and controls awareness throughout the enterprise
- Assists in consultations regarding security and controls architecture
- Evaluates the state of security and controls within the scope of control reviews
- Provides consultation on security and controls both within the enterprise and with Ford business partners
- Identify areas of risk on projects where security requirements cannot be fully addressed in the required time frame of the project
- Provide expertise in the areas of IT security (active support in the choice of tool and in their implementation
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time, one year contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $68.64/hour or $142,782 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Candidates are expected to work onsite at our client’s location.
Qualifications you need
A successful Internet/Web Security Specialist possesses or provides the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Education, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Information Systems Security, Management, Information Technology or Engineering
- High-level programming skills in applicable languages, such as PHP or C
- Extensive knowledge of security frameworks
- Research skills to keep abreast of the latest malware threats and developments in IT security
- Critical thinking and analytical skills to identify and diagnose threats
- Problem-solving skills to develop effective procedures and plans
- Strong oral and verbal communication skills to write reports, train staff and collaborate with other members of your IT team
- Multitasking skills to complete other tasks while monitoring data systems
- Organizational skills to create reports that are clear and easy-to-read
- License or Certifications (preferred)
