This position is a key role on the North American Leadership Team and is responsible for sourcing materials and services required to support our compressor and condensing operations in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This position will work closely with our Global team to coordinate and execute a comprehensive sourcing strategy for North America that delivers value to our customers through cost savings, improved on-time delivery, and new product introductions.
Job Responsibilities
Travel: 0 – 10%. Some international and domestic travel will be required.
Physical Demands: Lifting a minimum of 25lbs, occasionally. Position is a desk position. Long periods of computer and/or phone is required.

Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for North America region in close collaboration with local teams and Global Procurement for supplier selection, negotiation, and contract implementation.
- Identify and support both regional and Global initiatives for cost savings, contract opportunities, supplier quality and risk mitigation of single sourced materials.
- Participate and support Operations and Engineering to meet project timelines.
- Perform routine spend analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Develop key supplier relationships.
- Support Global Procurement strategic initiatives.
- Negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with contracts developed locally or globally.
- Source materials and services required to support product launches, dual sourcing efforts, and cost savings initiatives.
- Provide support to resolve supplier quality issues and take corrective action.
- Notify internal customers of supplier change notifications, assume role as liaison with supplier to obtain documents and material required to approve change.
- Prepare various reports for cost savings tracking supplier spend analysis and performance.
- Follow all procedures within the company Security, EHS, and Global Trade policies.
- Bachelor’s degree required (SCM, Business, Engineering, or related field)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing or related field.
- Experience supporting manufacturing/production lines.
- Demonstrated success with pricing and/or negotiations.
- Extensive experience using MRP systems – Oracle experience a plus.
- Strong alignment to Tecumseh Core Values.
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability.
- Ability to function highly in a matrixed organization – collaborate and communicate effectively across the organizational lines.
- Good understanding of supplier selection processes.
- Strong negotiation skills.
