Job Description:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor and thought partner to Medical Center’s front-line managers, driving forward our people strategies and supporting organizational goals. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HRBP ensures that assigned client groups are aligned with the Medical Center’s strategic plan and people strategy while upholding core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and tactical HR support to assigned client groups, aligning with the Medical Center’s financial and talent objectives.
- Advise and collaborate with front-line managers on people-related matters, ensuring organizational alignment with core strategies.
- Develop, implement, and manage HR programs that enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational effectiveness.
- Address and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and providing guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Partner with union leadership and management to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, maintaining a productive labor relations environment.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by collaborating on workforce development, talent acquisition, and succession planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations, maintaining accurate documentation and reports as needed.
- Support HR Director in organizational development, change management initiatives, and workforce planning efforts.
- Act as an advocate for employees, handling confidential matters with sensitivity and discretion.
- Occasionally work night/weekend hours to support a 24/7 operation (e.g., investigations, counseling).
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
- 5 years of HR Business Partner experience, hospital or healthcare setting required.
- Union experience required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and decisive judgment abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.
- Effective in stressful situations and able to work with limited supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Work Schedule:
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.
- Flexibility required for occasional night/weekend work to support a 24/7 operation.
- On-site position with travel to off-campus clinics in the Missoula area as needed.
Nice-to-Have:
- Professional HR certifications such as PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.
