Description:
The Data Engineer will be responsible developing automation capabilities within the Security Operations Center and working with a Cyberfraud team to create and detect Cyberfraud alerts at the request of the business.
Responsibilities
• Develop Scripts and Automation leveraging Python, SQL and APIs to ingest data into the SIEM for use case development and automation.
• Perform data ingestion and develop alerting capabilities using SIEM and SOAR technologies
• Provide proficient knowledge of recognizing and onboarding necessary data sources into the SIEM, analyzing the data, normalizing, then building use cases to fulfill stakeholder requirements.
• Develop reliable, efficient queries that will feed custom alerts and dashboards
• Develop automation and scripts to drive efficiencies in the SOC
• Recommend and assist in technology evaluations and implementations.
• Create and update documentation and playbooks
Requirements
• 5 years of experience of software engineering and automation
• 5 years' experience with developing with REST APIs, Python, SQL, andor any other scripting or programming languages.
• Knowledge about API design standards, patterns and best-practices especially REST, SOAP, JSON etc.
• Experience of SIEM and/or big data analytics platforms preferred (MAPR/Hadoop, etc.)
• Knowledge of Fraud Detection & Prevention techniques.
• Experience analyzing and transforming data utilizing SQL and scripts
• Experience with multiple operating systems to include Windows, Mac OS, and Unix/Linux
• Experience working in an agile and DevOps environments
• Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative IT environment. Highly self-motivated, directed, and can work independently without supervision
