What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cable Helper position at TEKsystems?
Our client is a growing company based in Charleston, SC. Most of their work is in school but they also do commercial projects like offices and banks.
The helpers will be taking direction from the onsite lead/project manager pulling & labeling cable. Prior cabling experience is not required however the aptitude to learn and prior experience working with their hands in necessary. They may also have to do other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Some of the work will be local to Charleston but there will also be travel as far north as Georgetown or as far south as Savannah (they pay for travel time). Right now they are doing work in Beaufort County Schools. When traveling to other markets they will coordinate our techs to ride in a company truck with a lead so they won't have to use their own vehicle. Candidates must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license to be able to get to local jobsites.
Work hours will depend on the project but could be 3-11 (2nd shift) or 8-4:30 (1st shift) Monday-Friday. There are rare times when weekend work will be required. The hours also depend on the preference of the principals of the schools they will be in.
Ladder, drills, and a shirt will be provided. Helpers will need to provide hand tools (screwdriver, flashlight, and possibly snips and a punch tool), work pants, steel toe boots, safety glasses, and a hard hat. No offensive tattoos are allowed.
