This position is for a Linux Engineer. The Client's solution is a hyper-converged, multitenant private cloud hosting environment for hosting enterprise and tactical applications. The Project is utilizing the full suite of VMware products (ESXi, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Foundations, ARIA Automation, Tanzu) to implement a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) across multiple global sites. The Client is integrating the Hashicorp Vault and Terraform, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, and the GitLab Ultimate Suite into the Project solution to provide an automation platform in addition to the VMware ARIA capabilities along with a DevSecOps framework for the End-Users to utilize. The Client provides value added common and managed services built on top of the VMware foundation, that hosted End User applications will require. The Client is a managed service provider (MSP) and hosting services provider for End-User applications.

Position Duties
- Work with Engineers to develop and maintain the Project architecture.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deployment and sustainment of the Linux based services.
- As new applications are hosted on the Project solution, utilize IaC for the provisioning of the customer Linux resources.
- Maintain Linux patching servers for all Linux hosts to patch from.
- Provide daily administration of the Linux based services.
- Harden the Linux based services per commercial best practices and the required government cybersecurity controls.
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of any Linux issues.
- Coordinate major version upgrades of existing Linux virtual machines by deploying new virtual machines resources and assisting application owners with migrating to new VMs and then tear down the old VMs.
- Develop and maintain system, infrastructure, and process documentation (system diagrams, network topology, software configurations, device configurations, standard operating procedures).
- Provide on-call support for triage and resolution of after-hours production incidents.
- Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, and compute services and technologies.
