Description:
West Virginia University is the states largest public higher education institution with over 30,000 students currently enrolled. WVU's main campus is located in Morgantown WV but has support offices in all 55 counties in WV. The Director over this team currently supports student housing which consists of housing, access control, security. The team is looking for a Point of Sale Administrator. The ideal candidate will have experience in the helpdesk/desktop support working on POS cash registers.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Point of Sales Strategy:
- Develop and document equipment replacement standard
- Plan and execute equipment and software/database upgrades
- Identify opportunities for growing and improving Point of Sales operations
2. Point of Sales Support:
- Maintain accurate documentation related to POS systems
- Provide training to end users of POS equipment
- Diagnose and correct problems related to POS devices and systems
- Collaborate with internal audit and information security on PCI audits of cashiering equipment.
3. PCI-DSS Compliance:
- Understand all PCI-DSS compliance regulations
- Collaborate with internal audit and information security on PCI audits of cashiering equipment.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Dining Operations to ensure that point of sale devices are meeting current and future needs
- Work closely with ITS teams associated with student meal plans and related technologies
- Foster relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry experts to stay informed about best practices and innovations.
5. E-Commerce Support:
- Provide support for e-commerce platform
- Work closely with E-commerce manager to create governance structures
Skills
- Experience implementing and maintaining point of sale devices
- Experience administering point of sale applications
- Proven experience maintaining PCI-DSS compliance on POS devices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and provide innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience developing processes, procedures, and controls to safeguard sensitive information.
- Ability to follow and understand market trends and customer needs related to POS devices
- Experience in gathering and analyzing customer feedback, conducting user research, and translating insights into actionable requirements.
