Job Summary

Client is looking for an experienced Production Manager to support our growth. This position shall direct the Production and Production Test teams at the company. The Production Manager provides planning and scheduling of production work orders (PWO) to the manufacturing floor, ensuring that the work assignments match the weekly production plans initiated.

Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the flow of products through the complete production cycle.
  • Direct day-to-day activities for purchasing, assembly, QC, shipping and test staff in accordance with the production plans developed.
  • Possesses expert-level proficiency within an MRP system to understand allocations and any potential procurement challenges.
  • Evaluate suppliers or quality, timeliness and match according to goals.
  • Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory.
  • Coordinate between stockroom and purchasing on material shortages.
  • Address issues regarding quality and production.
  • Monitor production for performance to schedule, and on-time delivery of ship date commitments to customers.
  • Determine manpower, equipment and materials needed to cover production demand if manufacturing expansion requirements are necessary.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders (Engineering, Sales, Management) to surface unexpected production or sales order challenges that come about, and solve problems together.

Goals And Expectations

Goals for the first 30 days of employment:

  • Gain a thorough understanding of how Triad’s products are manufactured and structured in the ERP system, i.e. how parts lists are created, how multi-level bills of material are created and processed via work order.
  • Undergo training by Triad management and have a full understanding of Triad’s production process, from the initiation of a sales order to the shipping of a unit.
  • Undergo training on standard operating procedures relating to purchasing, vendor management, shipping & receiving, incoming inspection, RMA processing, and work order planning and creation.
  • Familiarity with the SOPs and requirements for a production order to be released to the shop floor, and diligently enforce them.
  • Understand how RFQs are placed with suppliers and how pricing / lead times are managed in the system. Direct Procurement on reviewing material status and make expedite decisions based on order urgency.
  • Learn and gain a thorough understanding of creating and executing various reports in the Salesforce-Based ERP system to facilitate operations and management decisions
  • Participate in weekly Sales Order Review / Production Review meetings

Goals For The First 90 Days

  • Make updates and edits to the weekly production schedule based on new order entries, stock build requirements, and existing production order status changes
  • Manage the setting of minimum-on-hand quantities for stocked units and lead-time risk parts, as identified by procurement and management.
  • Release and time purchase orders from the system based on production throughput and the production schedule plan.
  • Direct and manage assembly and test resources in order to ship out weekly delivery commitments on time.

Goals For The First 120 Days

  • Independently manage the weekly production schedule and self-sufficiently manage assembly and production test. The input to your work product shall be a correctly entered sales order and production documentation; the output shall be a successfully shipped order within a reasonable lead time with little to no management intervention required.

  • Possesses expert-level proficiency in using MRP / ERP systems.
  • Possesses a process-oriented, results oriented way of thinking.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills. (1-3 year experience with managing small groups would be ideal.)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Required And Preferred Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or related operations experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in general electronics manufacturing or aerospace / defense manufacturing.
  • Experience working with electronics assembly contract manufacturers and the general electronics / aerospace-defense electronics industry.
  • Strong technical background in RF/DC/Digital preferred.
  • Prior experience as a production planner in the industry preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • General management of Triad’s Procurement, Production, and Production Test teams.
  • Issuing external corrective actions to vendors, and collaborating with them to root cause and resolve manufacturing / supply issues encountered.
  • Issuing internal corrective actions within Triad, and collaborating with the Production team, Engineering teams and any other stakeholders involved in addressing errors, defects, and improving processes.
  • 1-3 year experience with managing small groups would be ideal.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body. This will include climbing, lifting up to 20 pounds, balancing, walking, carrying, and stooping.
  • The vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.
  • Able to sit, working on a computer, stand and move around for long hours at a time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
