Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will handle a broad range of accounting functions including month end close, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and analysis. The position requires an individual who has strong problem-solving skills, the ability to identify obstacles or issues, dedication, and willingness to meet hard deadlines. The individual in this role must be able to work both independently and in a team environment to develop and propose solutions. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and will work closely with the entire accounting team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Month End close, heavy GL
- Journal Entry preparation and entry
- Monthly Accrual and deferral entries
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation and analysis
- Capital Accounting
- Work with AP & AR staff
- Monthly trend variance analysis
- Reporting monthly results to accounting leadership
- Support with Annual Audits
- Support the accounting manager and controller on special projects and process improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors in accounting preferred
- Basic knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent analytical, judgement, and decision-making skills with the ability to adapt to change.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, other Microsoft Office Programs, and general computer skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, other Microsoft Office Programs, and general computer skills
- Must be able to work as a flexible team player to achieve accounting goals and ability to continually adapt to changes that accompany a fast-growing business.
- High level of organization and strong attention to detail
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines, demonstrate strong follow through, and to follow departmental procedures.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization
- Must be able to work independently.
- NetSuite Experience a plus
