Position Summary
This position will manage all procurement project work for the Chelmsford facility: supplier transition management, cost negotiation, supplier sourcing, supplier value added programs, and supply chain process improvements. This role will work closely with the tactical buyers and operations to ensure projects are completed successfully.
Principal Responsibilities
- Manages all supply transition project work for the site; works to ensure we have plans during change processes
- Participates in regular transition meetings with stakeholders and commodity managers; lead person representing the plant for supply chain
- Helps to establish formal supplier programs for value adds; supplier held inventory programs to reduce lead-times
- Assists plant in leading projects to improve material flow, develops internal Kanban and supermarkets
- Generates supply chain metrics for the department on performance against KPI’s
- Develops recommendations for dual source opportunities based on risk and supplier performance.
- Facilitation of supply interruption risks; supplies input and participates in weekly review risks with cross-functional team members
- Supply consolidation programs on MRP (non-direct material) and migration to vendor managed programs
- Negotiates cost out programs
- Development of supplier scorecard process for the site
- Sourcing of new suppliers and qualification to AVL with team members
- Supplier Audit work processes
- Negotiate supplier pull systems for high size/high impact commodities
- Assists Materials Leadership with process issue improvements
- Acts as escalation resource to buyer planners; engages in difficult supply issue devolvement
- Works closely with Manufacturing and Quality on supplier quality issues and remediation
Education / Experience Requirements
- Batchelor’s Degree preferred
- 5-7 years’ experience in a procurement role
- SAP experience preferred
- Strong communication and attention to details
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
- ERP System experience, preferably SAP
- Excel Skills
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
