Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager will manage all aspects of warehousing and material movement throughout the Chelmsford facility: shipping, receiving, cycle counting, material flow and housekeeping. This role will play a key role in our Lean transformation from a material flow standpoint.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all tactical aspects of material flow both inbound and outbound; as well as material flows that support build plans and internal Kanban’s.
  • Drives daily execution of tactical activities; responsible for Gemba standup tiered metrics and related problem solving.
  • Develops/Coaches and mentors’ direct reports; works to implement cross training principles to ensure flexible work staff.
  • Assists plant in leading projects to improve material flow, development of internal Kanban’s and supermarkets.
  • Works closely with the Sr Material Manager to develop standards that are measurable
  • Creates standard work for all tactical functions; ensures “one best way” that is documented and deployed with the team.
  • Works to ensure ILMS principles are planned and executed in accordance with managerial expectations.
  • Develops a space for every part process; ensures we have resources for storage of raw material and semi-finished goods inventories.
  • Acts as escalation resource for matters related to material flow and movement; internal and external as required.
  • Drives process and problem solving around management of material cycle counting
  • Ensures 5S practices are embedded and sustained in the daily standard work for all material flow functions.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Batchelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a Supply Chain or Continuous Improvement role
  • SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and attention to details
