What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Manager position at TeleMed2U?
The Human Resources Manager will facilitate and manage employee relations on behalf of the company. The role is directly responsible for the full spectrum of human resources management for TeleMed2U, Inc. This role is accountable for executing all the people initiatives for the company and providing outstanding internal customer support. Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Assists employees with interpretation of company policies and procedures.
- Handles moderate to complex employee relations questions, concerns, and issues; recommends employee coaching or disciplinary actions(s) as required.
- Advises and trains managers in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems. Develops further training as needed.
- Partner with leadership team in the development and implementation of the organizations HR strategies and programs in alignment with business goals.
- Drives the employee engagement and wellness agenda (i.e., plans and facilitates all Company and employee engagement activities, rewards, and recognition programs).
- Accurately diagnose organizational issues, develop potential solutions, and recommend changes to management as appropriate to retain and motivate employees.
- Develops, recommends, and implements policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures. Review and make updates as necessary.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt non-provider employees, including creation of job description, job posting, applicant screening, interview coordination, and hiring negotiations.
- Partner with hiring managers and recruiter on provider onboarding.
- Offer generation and development of bonus plans and policies.
- Perform onboarding for all new hires by conducting new hire orientation, facilitating new hire meet and greet with management, and set up in HRIS and payroll.
- Collaborate with payroll on new hires, employee changes, benefit deductions, terminations, etc..
- Performs benefits administration, assists with open enrollment and plan preparation. Provide benefit plan recommendations to management. Ensure employee changes are captured and maintained in benefits system. Assist with employees’ benefit-related questions/issues.
- Works with 401K financial advisor, TPA, and plan provider on enrollments, distributions, reporting, and yearly testing requirements.
- Ensures competitive compensation for all salaried and hourly employees by conducting compensation review with management.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Keeps up to date on leave laws and administers in accordance with local and federal laws and regulations.
- Assist and coach managers with performance plan for employees.
- Oversee and drive the performance evaluation cycle for employees and revise as necessary.
- Provides and recommends employee and manager training.
- Handle employee terminations. Advise on terminations, handle all exiting logistics for employee, conduct exit interview, and ensure compliance and best practices are followed.
- Use of HRIS system to maintain employee records and process employee actions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Able to adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Able to juggle and manage competing tasks and demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources or related field required.
- Six years of professional human resource administration.
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
