Job Description
Job Title: Cannabis Laboratory Technologist
Reports To: Laboratory Manager and/or Assistant Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Facility Access: Full Facility Access
Pay Range: $22-32 Hourly Rate
Description: The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing all aspects of testing in a cannabis quality control laboratory. They assist supervisors in the development of new technologies and participate in documenting and implementing Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) procedures. The Technologist participates in sample accessioning, intake, preparation and analysis to evaluate the safety of different medical marijuana products.
Responsibilities:
· Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager and Assistant Manager, the Laboratory Technologist is responsible for the receipt, sample preparation, and evaluation of samples for the following testing: Potency (HPLC), Pesticides (LCMS/GCMS), Heavy Metals (ICP-MS), Residual Solvents and Terpenes (GCMS), moisture content, water activity, and microbial analysis (PCR).
· Performs Certificate of Analysis (CoA) and Research and Development (R&D) testing on client samples, confirming results through measurements and calculations.
· Ability to prioritize work to maintain acceptable turn-around-time as governed by the State of Missouri.
· Evaluates raw and final data for accuracy; recognizes and corrects errors and unusual results; interprets results to produce a final report.
· Maintains, calibrates, and cleans instrumentation; performs scheduled and as needed maintenance; troubleshoots as indicated.
· Follows quality control processes; monitors controls for error detection and takes corrective action; maintains laboratory records, maintenance logs, quality control charts, reagent and standard logs, and worksheets.
· Participates in the instruction and training of others; demonstrates and/or explains the testing process to others or observes the testing process as performed by others.
· Maintains readiness for an audit by internal or external sources. Follows ISO 17025 guidelines for Testing Laboratories.
· Remains current on laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties delegated by the Laboratory Manager or Assistant Manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
