Job description: Transporter
Time commitment: 40 hours per week
Reports to: Transport Director
Status: Non-Exempt; At-Will: Eligible for benefits
The transport staff is in charge of making sure students are taken to medical appointments, the airport and other necessary places. They may also assist in other transportations jobs from other departments, as needs arise.
Qualifications:
- Current Driver's License.
- Problem solving skills; Detail oriented.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Flexible work hours.
- Ability to organize tasks, take detailed notes, and work independently.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Proficient with Google Gsuite online applications such as google docs, email, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of age group characteristics and ability to work with emotionally challenged teen-aged students
- Previous experience in a residential treatment setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Will drive in Telos vans and vehicles wherever possible.
- Communicates and coordinates with the Transport Director, Nurses, and Residential Departments.
- Transports students to medical appointments, sits in the office, and observes the appointment.
- Participates and asks questions in the medical office, as necessary.
- Summarizes appointments and reports promptly to nurses and parents.
- Responsible for sensitive documents and information during a medical appointment.
- Maintains supervision of students, preserves confidentiality, and adheres to HIPPA regulations.
- Drives students to and from the airport, to drop off and pick up students on pass.
- Coordinates promptly with the parent and Transport Director while conducting an airport transport.
- Responsible for medications and other valuables while conducting an airport transport.
- Arrives early before scheduled transport and is responsible for gathering prerequisite items.
- Coordinates and performs a check-in of any arriving students back to Telos, including a physical search of students and belongings.
- Is a residential mentor to the students in their care, and holds proper boundaries.
