What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cell Lead position at Temposonics, LLC.?
Primary Objective:
Leads production line and directs assemblers in manufacturing processes which includes product assembly training, ensures conformance to manufacturing procedures, manages schedules, and act as back up to supervisor.
Major Areas of Accountability
1. Leads product line and actively addresses any issues that may impede efficient flow of production to meet quality requirements and product ship dates to ensure customer satisfaction.
2. Arrives 15 minutes prior to start time to check the schedule, status of WIP (work in progress), status of internal KANBAN bins and workstation part bins. Assigns assemblers to their initial workstations and plans for transitioning as work is completed. Prepares the next assignment for assemblers to minimize downtime while changing stations.
3. Monitors all inventory parts and all inbound WIP needed to complete daily production. Keep each station stocked with inventory and internal KANBAN parts
4. Inspects work in a random fashion to ensure quality and adherence to manufacturing instructions.
5. Addresses issues that could take assemblers away from the direct work. (i.e.: quality issues with inbound parts, order issues, equipment problems). Assists with assembly to clear bottlenecks in the line and fills in for assemblers when necessary.
6. Provides input to Supervisor and Engineers when developing new assembly processes or modifying existing ones.
7. Trains new employees and cross trains existing employees.
8. Maintains line conformance to manufacturing procedures, non-conforming materials, pull tickets, stock, date coded materials and packing slips.
9. Expedites orders to ensure on time shipments.
10. Performs monthly cycle counts.
11. Manages 2 or more product lines with a minimum of 10 employees.
12. Knows and applies the division’s quality policy and procedures of ISO 9001 as it relates to the area of responsibility and the organization. Follows all standard operating procedures as prescribed and notifies appropriate personnel of any non-conformance.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- One-year experience in an electro-mechanical assembly work or demonstrated ability to build products from start to finish and minimum grade level of MNX03 skill set required
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, bills of material
- Ability to thru hole and surface mount technology (SMT) solder and inspect soldering and assembly builds
- Willingness to provide effective team-oriented manufacturing support and ability to interact well between groups and individuals
- Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions, manuals, schematics and engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to perform job tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- Ability to use Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system. Ability to find information on MTS networks and computer.
- Ability to partner with Technical Supervisor on special projects
