What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Clerk position at Tempur Sealy International, Inc.?
The Transportation Clerk will perform administrative tasks to support the Transportation Supervisor with the tactical execution of company strategies. The position requires excellent skills in both oral and written communication with customers, vendors and fellow employees. This position will support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Confirmation of completion of order delivery and compliance with specified details
- Maintains records of all shipments and indexed documentation arranged in a file according to an established system
- Scheduling of all pickup and delivery appointments with customers, vendors and brokers daily
- Retrieves data or correspondence from files as requested within an appropriate time frame
- Notifies appropriate personnel of shipping or raw material receiving schedules and of any known logistics problems
- Creates and distributes performance reporting to the management team daily
- Assist with maintaining an environment that encourages a safe and compliant fleet
- Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Perform other duties as directed or assigned

Education: Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of related experience
Experience: Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within logistics. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job. Works well under immediate supervision. Familiar with Microsoft Office software
