GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for the commercial direction of his/her respective products. This involves driving strategy development and implementation across different functional organizations within the group including sales, engineering, research and development, manufacturing and others. The product manager is also responsible for ensuring product goals are aligned and support the company's overall strategy and goals. Key success indicators include sustainable growth and profitability of product categories.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business required
EXPERIENCE:
5 – 7 years of relevant experience in developing product strategy
REQUIREMENTS:
- Analyze global markets (today/potential) for respective products.
- Develop, communicate and implement a strategy for Global Sealing and Gasket Product Lines to grow the business profitably and meet the long term business objectives. Coordinate a Product Strategy Committee with the involvement of Sales, Operations, Engineering and Research & Development. Work directly with Sales, Operations and Technology to align our technology/business goals. Deliverable to be a living document roadmap for each of the product lines within the Sealing Organization ensuring product strategy is aligned to business goals.
- Own product line strategy containing:
- Market overview.
- Competitor profiles. Monitor our competition on their technology, business performance and strategic moves. These updates will be included in the Sealing and Gaskets Semi-Annual Product Reviews.
- Product line overview (P&L) and projections.
- Technology overview.
- Value proposition and product positioning. Identify new market opportunities and coordinate with the management team the business case/ financial scenarios to support the investments necessary to grow the business profitably.
- Technology roadmap.
- Price positioning and cost models.
- Value stream analysis.
- Market influences.
- Profitable growth strategy.
- Provide market, competitor and customer analysis in order to stimulate profitable global growth strategies by region and customer. Work with the Global Sales and Marketing team to develop robust market intelligence to grow the S&G business. Build relationship with our key customer’s engineering teams to better understand how we can add value, exceed their expectations and learn about technology trends. Understand and communicate to the management team technology trends and market intelligence that addresses our goals and translate them into commercial opportunities.
- Analyze market data in order to build strategic plan.
- Frame market opportunity/requirements, commercial strategy and positioning for new advanced development products.
- Lead the formulation of our annual 5-year Strategic Plan and follow up on updates.
- Understand the key functional characteristics of their respective products.
- Identify and effectively communicate critical design and related performance attributes of their products.
- Connect product characteristics to critical value drivers of users.
- Understand and analyze the basic manufacturing process of respective products.
- Strong understanding of core business structures and processes.
- Ability to effectively assess value streams, decision drivers, critical paths to market, competitor assessment and strategic product positioning.
- Strong understanding of financial models including cost structure and profitability analysis.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Effective communication skills to convey key concepts/strategies across organization groups and to executive management.
- Ability to effectively communicate with different disciplines across the organization.
- Highly motivated self-starter.
- Travel requirement is about 2 weeks per quarter.
