Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Make outbound phone calls to solicit loan payments. Prepare letters to solicit loan payments.
- Receive incoming telephone calls in a “call center” type environment weekly.
- Participate with 5 - 6 other collectors in sharing the inbound phone call responsibilities.
- Perform Spectrum transactions such as OREO transactions, reversal of payments, and Credit Reporting changes via Spectrum.
- Be able to proficiently perform business math calculations in Microsoft Excel.
- Produce end-of-month accounting reports.
- Assist in balancing GL accounts for the Accounting department.
- Attend court proceedings on behalf of the Credit Union. Be able to verbally communicate the Credit Union’s viewpoint in a professional environment.
- Exhibit characteristics of a team player, such as assisting other employees in completing of additional task(s). Train other employees in specialized tasks.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience in Credit Union/Bank/Finance Company is preferred.
- Knowledge and ability to apply the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and Bankruptcy law.
- Ability to accurately perform business math calculations.
- Ability to create or process calculations in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines.
