Essential Job functions:
- Develop and implement engineering processes and methodologies to improve product quality and efficiency.
- Provide hands-on guidance and mentoring to junior engineers while promoting a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing among teams.
- Manage multiple software development projects from concept through delivery, ensuring all milestones are met and expectations exceeded.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, QA engineers, and operations staff to define project requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
- Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of engineering initiatives and drive process improvements.
- Foster a data-driven approach to decision making to track progress and identify areas where performance optimization is necessary.
- Stay current on emerging trends and industry advancements, continually incorporating new technologies into the engineering roadmap to enhance platform capabilities that are impactful to the enterprise.
- Support the evaluation of new technologies, techniques, and tools.?
- Responsible for identifying project risks and develop mitigation strategies.?
- Ensure compliance with FINRA technology policies and standards and ensures best practices.
Education and Experience requirements
- Bachelors's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or STEM degree and 7-10 years of software development and/or automation engineering experiencee, or the equivalent combination of training and experience. (OR) Masters with 5 yrs.
- 5-7 years supervisory/management experience
- Excellent understanding in computer science fundamentals - Algorithm design, Problem solving, Complexity analysis and data structures.
- Experience must include direct project experience in five of the following areas: strategy, software development, operations, engineering, QA, Devops, information security, and/or compliance.
- Demonstrable experience with modern programming languages and common development technologies with software architecture and design skills.
- Demonstrable Experience with Cloud related technologies and UNIX/LINUX systems
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships and leverage those relationships to improve the Devops maturity of the projects.
- Should be well organized, thorough, and able to handle competing priorities.
- Ability to maintain focus and develop proficiency in new skills rapidly.
- Minimum of 5 years of managing technical programs and/or processes.
- Must be self-directed, detail-oriented and have excellent written & oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Managing Machine learning PLATFORMS or understanding of the Model development process is a plus.
