ABOUT THE JOB
As a Project Manager at Tepa, you will work on projects across the United States. We do not require you to live in a specific location for this position, as it is a traveling position, but you will be expected to report to one of our current job sites across the US. In this position, you will be responsible for day-to-day project management including project financials, scheduling, client and subcontractor coordination, quality and safety.
Job responsibilities inlcude:
- Plans, coordinates, integrates, monitors, and appraises to support the preparation of project and contract proposals. Develops project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Ensures compliance with contractual terms.
- Maintains active communication with clients regarding technical progress and the status of the schedule and budget.
- Provides timely and accurate invoicing.
- Coordinates with Program Management to assemble the right project team.
- Manages scope changes.
- Identifies development opportunities for project technical staff.
- Complies with purchasing requirements.
- Performs project closeout activities.
- Ensures maintenance of technical communications and business files.
- Reports variances from plan, appraising impact of variances; recommending corrective actions.
- Prepares declarations of revenue.
- Participates in professional activities for the purpose of career development and corporate image enhancement.
- Monitors/evaluates, in conjunction with the Program Manager, project financial performance.
- Coordinates with the Quality Director regarding quality, technical and personnel issues.
- Coordinates with Area Safety and Health Manager regarding safety and health issues.
- Is responsible for the overall success, quality and safety of project execution.
- Develops project proposal costing and pricing. Develops and implements budgets for assigned projects. Responsible for the financial success of assigned projects.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- B.S. in construction or engineering practice or minimum of 8 year's progressive project/program management experience. 5 years' experience in DoD fueling systems repair, maintenance or construction.
- Experience and understanding of construction site quality control.
- Petroleum tank and piping construction and repair experience.
- Experience demonstrating progressive increase in financial/supervisory accountability and authority.
- Fuel Systems Maintenance, Repair & Construction project management (minimum of 5 years).
- Client Management/Business Development background (minimum 2 years).
- Familiar with DoD Fuel Facility UFGS, UFC, EM-385 requirements.
- In depth understanding of, and ability to work with various government contract types, including Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Firm Fixed Price, and Time & Materials.
- Ability to tightly control and manage project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, contract changes, internal staff resources and subcontractors.
Preferred (not required):
- American Petroleum Institute (API) 570 Piping Inspector Certification.
- API 653 Aboveground Tank Inspector Certification.
- NACE International Level I Coating Inspector Certification.
- Steel Tank Institute Tank Systems Inspector Certification.
- Business Management/leadership training
- PMP Certification
