Now about you..
Goshawk is actively seeking a Industrial Painter to support a number of projects. As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for performing surface preparation on various substrate types and apply protective coatings/sealants via brush and roll, caulking gun, and all spray type applications. Additionally, you will assist the mechanical crew when needed.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Communicates with coworkers and job site staff in a professional manor
- Perform all job functions with a safety-first approach
- Ability to meet production rate requirements to meet schedules and budgets
- Performs surface preparation using power tools and hand tools
- Performs surface preparation using high-pressure sandblasting equipment
- Productively working in different environments, including containments, confined spaces, extreme heat/cold (Less than 0 degrees to over 120 degrees)
- Apply a variety of coating types at the specified mil thickness using spray equipment and brushes/rollers
- Use concrete saws and tools to remove and install joint sealant
- Build scaffolding and erect containments using tarps, cables, and rigid materials
- Moving very heavy material and tools such as blast hoses, material containers, tarps, etc.
- Operate and maintain heavy industrial equipment including large compressors, generators, blast pots, air dryers, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and fork lifts
- Working at heights while adhering to strict fall-protection standards
- Operates several types of paint pumps and has the ability to fix/maintain them in the field
- Assists mechanical crew with tasks including cutting and grinding with power tools
- Continuously shifting tasks as necessary to complete the project goals
- Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as situations warrant
- Change from day shift to night shift as required by project conditions
What are we looking for?
- Must be willing to travel
- CAS Certification Level 2 required
- Understanding of safe work practices required
- OSHA 10 required before employee can begin work
- Surface preparation of steel and concrete
- Containment design and erecting experience preferred
- Coatings application via spray and brush/roll methods
- Must be able to pass and maintain industry certification
- Must understand the importance of prompt and consistent work attendance
- Possess a reliable means of transportation to make cross-country drives as needed
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must have a clean criminal record. Job sites are located on military bases that require intense background checks
