What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at TERI Inc?

The Cook will be responsible for setting up the prep station, stocking inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Ultimately, you will play an essential role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and the growth of the Café.
The Café is in San Marcos, CA 555 Deer Springs Rd.
Schedule: Part-time, Thursday & Friday 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Saturday 1:00 PM 9:00 PM <20Hours / week
A typical day for a cook will include:
- Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen is set up and stocked.
- Prepare components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
- Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
- Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans
- Stock inventory and supplies.
- Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.
Range: $19.00 - $22.00 / Hour
We would love it if you:
- Highschool diploma/ GED is desirable.
- Criminal background check required.
- Acceptable Driving History.
- Must have a personal mode of transportation.
- In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
- County of San Diego food handler’s card.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Aptitude for multi-tasking.
- Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.
- Acceptable driving history
- Acceptable criminal background check
- Must receive a negative marijuana/drug screen.
