Shipping Assistant

Summary:
Tern Overland is looking for a full-time shipping assistant to fulfill and ship product orders and perform inventory in a small but growing business. Candidate must be a low key, productive and efficient team player. Tern Overland is a rapidly growing, high-end RV/Overlanding component supplier. Our windows, roof hatches, entry doors, cargo access doors and other components have quickly become the industry standard and highly sought after for use in vans, campers, trailers, and composite box builds for large trucks. Customers demand high quality products for their builds and expect prompt, courteous, knowledgeable service in return for their business.

Shipping Assistant Duties:

• Receive packing list and fulfill order by pulling items to be shipped from the warehouse and prepare them for shipping. Inspect items and packaging for damage. Prepare package per company standards for shipping. Perform task consistently and efficiently.
• Perform bi-weekly and as needed inventory of product and shipping supplies.
• Receive deliveries, document, and store in proper location.
• Keep all shipping stations properly stocked with supplies.
• Responsible for keeping warehouse and shipping areas clean and organized. This includes breaking down boxes and removing trash.
• When shipments arrive, assist the rest of the team to unload the truck and stock shelves accordingly.

Shipping Assistant Skillset:

• Physical Skills - Ability to lift 50 lbs. on occasion and 30 lbs. consistently.
• Communication skills – good communication skills to collaborate with the rest of the team. Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
• Time management – ability to stay on task and complete orders on time.
• Attention to detail – detail-oriented and accuracy in all tasks is important.
• Organization skills – strong organization skills needed to keep shipments and deliveries accurate and on time, maintain warehouse cleanliness, and manage shipping inventory items.
• Multitasking – be able to coordinate and handle several projects at a time throughout a busy and fast paced environment.
• Prioritization skills – be able to recognize tasks that are more urgent than others and perform time sensitive tasks first.
• Self-sufficient and capable of working alone or as a team.
• Must be reliable and prompt in attendance.
• Reliable arrangements for childcare are necessary.
• Tern Overland is a drug/alcohol/vape/smoke free workplace.
• Reliable transportation is necessary.
• Shipping Assistant will be working regularly with the following tools:
• Packing materials (boxes, tape, shipping labels)
• Pallets, plastic wrap, and strapping
• Pallet jack

Education & Training:

• High School Diploma or GED
• On the job training will be offered
• Shipping and fulfillment experience is a plus.

Salary & Benefits:

• $15.00 - $17.00 per hour; full time. Rate of pay based on experience and performance.
• Raises based on performance.
• Eligible for quarterly bonuses after 90 days, based on performance.
• After 90-day probationary period the candidate will be eligible for AFLAC supplemental benefits and participation in a SIMPLE IRA plan.
• 5 paid holidays a year.
• After 1 year – 1 week of vacation is earned.

• Tuesday – Friday 8:00am – 6:00pm
