POSITION: Electrical Crane Technician
COMPANY: Ternium USA, Inc.
LOCATION: Shreveport, LA
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
REPORTS TO: Utility and Services PMG Leader
SUMMARY OF POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for the Electrical Reliability of the Overhead Cranes and Hoists.
- Attend morning meetings to discuss and resolve Crane issues.
- Assist Crane Contractors when necessary for problems all times, also including on-call availability
- Develop appropriate PMs and SOPs for Crane equipment.
- Perform daily checks to ensure Crane equipment reliability.
- Continuously seek improvement in processes, techniques and safety.
- Have enough skills to replace a Drive or PLC (download parameters) without assistance.
- Knowledge to perform calibration in any Temperature, Flow, Pressure, Speed, distance or other Critical Crane Electronic device.
- High and Medium Voltage experience are required.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic System on Cranes basic knowledge.
- Use SAP System and E-Merge System to keep critical spares at storeroom.
- Understand and Read Electrical and Mechanical Diagrams and manual descriptions for Crane and Hoists equipment.
- Participate in “Root Cause Analysis” and ABC meetings to determine and rectify problematic issues in the Critical Cranes.
- Coordinate effective repairs and maintenance on facility crane equipment utilizing SAP
- Responsible for daily and regulatory crane inspections as well as periodic load testing of each crane in the Plant.
- Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on Industrial Cranes
- Strong background in AC and DC electromechanical and solid-state motor control systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams
- Competency in working with 480V 3 phase motor control systems
- PLC and Drives expertise.
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic Mechanical experience with gear reducers and drive systems and Hydraulic and Pneumatics
- Working at heights
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspection to assure reliability of the cranes and hoists
- Ability to work in and add to our Team-Oriented Atmosphere
- Strong Safety Awareness and Experience
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors, coworkers and management
Environment:
- Walks frequently
- Works in a hot/cold plant environment to learn the process in order to design proper technical Crane maintenance programs
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
