General Responsibilities:
As Field Scientist you will conduct environmental site investigations, assessments and surveys to sample, measure and may analyze air, water, soil, materials. Identify, evaluates and make recommendations for additional assessments to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Prepare technical documents including field logs/data, proposals, and reports. Projects may include Phase I/II environmental site assessments, ecological and natural resource field surveys, tank closure assessments, asbestos inspections, asbestos abatement oversight, lead inspections, mold inspections, and storm water management. Additional responsibilities include data collection and documentation duties related to environmental field activities. Tabulate and prepare data for written proposals and reports. Cleans and maintains field monitoring equipment and company vehicles. Adhere to strict safety standards.

Essential Role And Responsibilities
- Perform duties related to asbestos / lead / mold inspections, abatement / remediation air monitoring, and project management.
- Evaluate respective data, prepare reports, and take part in other environmental consulting projects.
- This position will lead to licensure with the Texas Department of State Health Services as an Asbestos Inspector, Air Monitoring Technician, Project Manager.
- This position will lead to licensure as a Mold Assessment Consultant and certification as a Lead Inspector.
- Sample suspect asbestos-containing building materials in accordance with Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) guidelines.
- Sample suspect mold in building materials in accordance with Mold Assessors and Remediators Rules (MARAR).
- Sample suspect lead in paint in accordance with Texas Environmental Lead Reduction Rules (TELLR).
- Perform site visits, field observations, field data collection.
- Evaluates laboratory and field data, able to coherently summarize data into draft report format using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Responsible to meet deadlines and developing written proposals and reports to clients.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- Will assist Team members with other projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science.
- 0-4 years of experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
- TDSHS licenses and certifications in the field of expertise is a plus.
- TDSHS Lead Inspector certification is a plus.
- TDSHS licensure as a Mold Assessment Consultant is a plus.
- This position requires the employee to work flexible hours and occasional weekends. Occasional overnight travel and out-of-town mobilization of up to 2 weeks may also be required.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
