Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate and schedule appropriate social, recreational, and health activities for adults with developmental disabilities
- Develop a monthly calendar and newsletter of activities. Assure resources and materials needed to facilitate each activity are available
- Ensure all client interaction is focused on best interest of the client
- Maintain client activities funds in an accurate and auditable fashion
- Ensure that all paperwork is up to do date on a monthly basis
- Ensure Activity Center technicians are involved and engaged with clients at all times
- Working with Developmental Specialists, coordinate client and staff schedules, assuring needs of program and scheduled activities can be met.
- Provide guidance or training to Activity Center technicians as needed to assure goals of clients and programs are being maintained.
- Ensure that the client binders are signed off by Activity Center technicians in a timely fashion.
- Submit billing weekly
- Attend scheduled meetings
Work Schedule:
- Salaried exempt position with office hour Monday through Friday during the day, full time schedule requires a minimum of 36 hours a week. Must be available to clients and staff.
Qualifications to be a Developmental Specialist:
- Minimum of one year working in an Activity Center environment preferred
- One-year supervisory experience
- Graduation from a standard four-year high school or its equivalent
- Experience working with people with disabilities preferred
- Must read and write at 12th grade level and be able to comfortably perform basic math at minimum of high school level
- Must have intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Programs to build calendars and basic spreadsheets
- Strong organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well with people, clients, staff, support staff and families
- Must pass national background check and drug screen
- Must provide driver’s license and proof of insurance
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.

Benefits:
- Employees working an average of 25 hours/week for three months, they will be eligible for pro-rated health care benefits including medical, dental, & vision.
- Paid holiday, sick, and vacation also pro-rated.
- If working 36 hours/week or more, eligible for full benefits.
