Tesla participates in the E-Verify Program
- Design, implement, and automate large-scale patching strategies across Tesla's diverse data platform fleet. Manage the vulnerability lifecycle, working with various teams to prioritize and remediate risks
- Develop secure baseline configurations for various operating systems (Linux-centric). Build and maintain secure OS images, ensuring compliance with industry and Tesla-specific security standards
- Architect, implement, and manage robust key rotation systems and secure secrets management solutions, utilizing PKI, TLS, OpenSSL, and tokenization technologies where appropriate
- Champion automation with Ansible and other tools to streamline security processes, increase operational efficiency, and reduce manual errors
- Collaborate with SRE teams to integrate security-relevant metrics and logging into Prometheus and Grafana, enhancing visibility into potential threats and improving incident detection
- Participate in the design and review of new database and data platform architectures, ensuring security is embedded from the ground up
- Contribute to incident response processes, providing security expertise during analysis, containment, and remediation efforts
- Work closely with infrastructure, SRE, and other engineering teams to proactively address security vulnerabilities and foster a security-conscious culture
- Deep understanding of Linux administration, including system hardening, configuration management, and troubleshooting
- Proven experience in managing patching cycles across large, heterogeneous environments
- Strong Ansible skills and a passion for automating security tasks
- Solid understanding of PKI concepts, OpenSSL, and other cryptographic tools and protocols
- Experience with secrets management solutions such as HashiCorp Vault or similar
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and security-focused metrics.
- Understanding of SRE principles (monitoring, reliability, change management)
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes security best practices
- Familiarity with database hardening techniques (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Understanding of relevant security standards and regulations (PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)

$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
