What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Engineer - Stamping position at Tesla?
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Controls/Equipment Engineer, stamping will be responsible for troubleshooting and programming equipment and stamping press lines for our stamping press shop. Will also be involved in design and development of new press lines or modifications to existing press lines. In addition, will collaborate with the maintenance team to fix and improve equipment failures.
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for all controls related activities in the shop, leading and assisting production in all controls related topics and issues
- Responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, repairing equipment, creating test procedures
- Preparing and agreeing project budgets, timescales and specifications with clients and managers
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
Requirements:
- BS in electrical, mechatronics, or mechanical engineering
- 5 years of professional controls engineering experience
- 5 years of advanced PLC programming knowledge on Siemens Step 7, TIA Portal, or Allen Bradley RS Logic 5000 equivalent PLCs in a professional environment
- Understanding of databases and various program languages (Java, Python).
- 5 years of professional experience with Rexroth Indradrive, Allen Bradley Kinetix or Siemens SINAMICS servo drives
- HMI programming experience - Ignition and Wonderware
- Kuka, Fanuc, Kawasaki or Motoman Robotic hardware troubleshooting skills desired, any programing experiences are plus
- Proven project management experience
- Innovative, Business-minded, Capable of working well within a team, Organized and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility in working weekends and night shift as required
