What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Technician (Night Shift) position at Tesla?
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Controls Technician, with excellent electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills, to contribute to the sustaining of current and new automation equipment for our Seat Assembly Plant. These automated assembly lines consist of a several pieces of equipment, each PLC controlled. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work on a critical system of incredibly exciting vehicles.
- Controls Technician will help in development of maintenance technicians to help eliminate future downtime.
- Candidate will help maintenance troubleshoot and maintain all controls components such as PLC, safety devices, HMI, servo drives, process hardware and robots.
- The Controls Technician will assist in all areas of automated equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Minimum of 2 years of controls technician experience in a high-volume manufacturing/industrial environment or applicable technical certificate / degree.
- Availability for AWS schedule working 12 hour shifts 4 days one week and 3 day the next.
- Skilled at troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Skilled in SCADA systems such as Ignition and Factory Talk View.
- Skilled in PLC Languages such as Allen Bradley Controllogix.
- Skilled with Fanuc robot
- Evidence of exceptional ability.
- Experience working in a fast paced and dynamic environment and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable running equipment using internal or 3rd party software, able to decipher logs and troubleshoot equipment.
- Comfortable reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting.
- Good communication skills and demonstrated teamwork skills.
- Basic user level knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, PLM, ERP.
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
